Hunter Black Page 21 - Riverwalk

World-Building 101: If it works in the real world, it'll probably work in your fictional one -- you just need a few tweaks. Riverwalk is a city that sprouted up at the intersection of the Gennesine River (familiarly known as the Black Ribbon) and Weyland's Walk, the main thoroughfare of the continent, named for holy man Vanion Weyland's pilgrimage centuries ago. I was thinking of places like Midway Atoll in the Pacific Ocean, which is literally midway between Asia and America, and the Riverwalk dining and shopping district in San Antonio.

Find a way to make real naming conventions apply to the world you're trying to build. Not everything has to be some weird fantasy name.
